What happens after Envision?

At Envision, we see every day how young people develop essential skills and confidence through our programme... but what happens next?
What happens after Envision?

At Envision, we see every day how our programme supports young people to develop the Essential Skills and confidence they need to succeed. However, we’re keen to ensure that it’s not a one-off boost, but the start of a new journey towards more positive outcomes in school, work, and life.

“Since completing the Envision programme, I’ve found that the essential skills I developed have been invaluable…These skills have significantly contributed to my personal growth and success over the past year.”

Mutahar,
Birmingham Graduate

“It was genuinely enjoyable to take part in, and I often find myself referencing it in things like job interviews due to the skills that I was able to develop.”

Ayesha,
London Graduate

“I (have) been trying new things due to Envision as it pushed me to do things I wouldn’t have done.”

Kinga,
Bristol Graduate

As part of this commitment to young people, we’ve been piloting measuring long-term outcomes with our graduates. We recently conducted a review of this pilot, looking at the 12 and 18-month journeys of Envision graduates from 2022-2024.

We are thrilled that the majority our graduates report sustained or improved essential skill levels, improved confidence, and further engagement in social action, as well as involvement in the world of work or study. Beyond the numbers, this means more young people feeling confident, capable, and ready to take their next steps.

If you’re one of our graduates reading this – this is your impact. These results are built on your effort, your growth, and your willingness to step outside of your comfort zone.

This dataset goes a long way to demonstrating the impact of practical engagement in enrichment activities that build essential skills and set young people on a pathway to success. Notably, 94% of respondents were young people who are often underrepresented in the world of work (our Target Population), highlighting the power of ensuring that high-quality skill-building opportunities reach the young people who stand to benefit most.

For those graduates who felt their essential skill levels had dipped since they left the programme, the overwhelming reason given was feeling unable to stay focused on developing them. This reinforces the key message outlined in the recent government white paper – that providing young people with accessible opportunities to intentionally build and demonstrate these skills is crucial for preparing them for life beyond education.

We’re currently working on compiling case studies of our graduates across the last decade to bring these journeys to life in even more depth. Watch this space for more exciting news!
