Secondary Autumn Cohort 2024
The Autumn Cohort showcased incredible creativity and teamwork, with standout projects across Bristol, London, and Birmingham addressing important issues like sustainability, mental health, and inclusion.
This Autumn, teams across Bristol, London and Birmingham once again amazed us with their creativity, determination, and commitment to implementing fantastic and SMART projects in their school communities. Alongside their mentors, who provided invaluable support, advice, and shared insights from their own workplace experiences (plus a bit of fun!), the young people developed strong communication and teamwork skills throughout the process.
Here are some standout projects that we wanted to highlight:
Sustainable Sewing Club: A group of young people launched a sewing club aimed at upcycling and repairing old uniforms and clothing. This initiative not only promotes sustainability and reduces fashion waste but also supports classmates facing challenges in affording new uniforms.
Anxiety-Friendly School Maps: One team designed a school map that highlights quieter routes for students who feel overwhelmed or struggle with anxiety. These thoughtful maps will be distributed to new year groups annually, ensuring a more supportive and inclusive school environment for years to come.
Inclusive Mural Project: In Bristol, an Envision team worked together to design and paint a mural that promotes inclusion and belonging. This powerful message of unity and diversity will be a lasting symbol for the school community.
A huge thank you to all of our corporate partners for their continued support and mentoring, and to the schools for helping us support these young people as they continue to develop their skills and make an impact.
As we move into our Spring Cohort, we’re excited to see the new projects take shape, and we’re already gearing up for the finals this Summer!
