Our Youth Advisory Group: A Day of Communication and Collaboration!

At Envision, we believe in the power of youth voice and the importance of actively involving young people in shaping the work we do. That is why we formed our Youth Advisory Group, where groups of young people who are taking part on our programmes across the UK come together to share their feedback and advice on the work we are doing, helping us make the right changes and continuously improve.

Yesterday marked our first Youth Advisory Group session of 2024! Led by our Communications and Events Officer, Finn O’Ryan, the day focused on communication in all its forms. In the morning session we were joined by Joe Rabone, Internal Communications Business Partner at Wesleyan, who guided the team through the essential considerations of communication when working on a project. From defining objectives to understanding audiences, young people gained valuable insights into crafting messages that resonate and drive impact.

The afternoon was all about putting theory into practice as our youth advisors rolled up their sleeves and dove into creating social media content for our Instagram platform. With their creative caps on, they collaborated with the Envision team to develop engaging and relevant content that speaks directly to other young people. By getting actively involved, our youth advisors not only honed their communication and creative skills but also gained a deeper understanding of the power of social media as a tool for marketing and advocacy.

You can find the content they have been working on as we post to our Instagram! Stay tuned for more updates on the great work of our Youth Advisory Group and the exciting projects they’ll be leading in the months to come.
