More about me

Sue became Envision’s Education Trustee in 2017. She has extensive experience in education, first becoming a headteacher in 2000. Her successful school leadership experience has all been gained in state comprehensive schools in challenging circumstances and she has always been passionate about closing the educational achievement gap for young people from less-advantaged backgrounds. As a consultant, she currently provides school improvement services to schools in Newham, Camden, Lewisham, and Slough. Sue also works widely as a trainer, mentor and qualified coach with leadership teams, governing bodies and established school leaders. She is also currently a school governor in Haringey. Most recently she was Executive Headteacher of Parliament Hill School in London and, under her leadership, the school gained a national reputation for innovation in pedagogy, student leadership, inclusion and award-winning well-being provision. As an outstanding school leader who was selected to become a National Leader in Education, she has worked with many first-class organisations and developed many exciting partnership projects – including with Envision.

A social issue I care about

"An issue which for many years I’ve been concerned to combat is domestic abuse. I’ve been actively involved in organisations which practically support survivors and also those which work to educate young people about preventing abuse and developing healthy relationships. Cases of domestic abuse, coercive control and sexual violence continue to increase across all sections of society- and we know many victims suffered especially badly during Covid. It needs to change…"
