Growing up and going to state schools in South East London resulted in me having a very limited window on the world and being unaware of the career opportunities available to me. Which in effect meant that they were not available to me! Envision provides young people with a window into worlds that would not otherwise be available to them. Businesses miss out by not recruiting from more diverse pools of talent and Envision helps to bridge that gap by supporting young people to develop their essential skills. Having been a mentor with Envision for the past seven years I was keen to help more broadly with all the good work that the charity does. I believe in equal opportunities for all and that success should be determined by ability and effort rather than a person's background.
