Negative Perceptions
Birmingham Grads Zaahirah, Bilal and Waris are calling for your help in putting together a video and a podcast to tackle the negative stereotypes of young people in the media.
Explaining her campaign, Zaahirah said, “I want to make a youth video and podcast that cuts out the middle men in the media so that we can tell people loud and clear that we aren’t what the media portray us to be! It should help us all overall and highlight us in the eyes of the media to be the good youth of today as we are, not the trouble makers! Or the thugs in hoodies! By working with each other and bringing many voices together to make one, we can tackle what we think should be corrected!”
