Envision Testimonials

Over the last 10 years Envision has worked with thousands of young people from across the country, delivered programmes in hundreds of schools and colleges and worked with and trained many volunteers.

We've worked with local authorities and government departments, think tanks and community partners. We've delivered training to students and teachers and supported research projects and campaigns. Here's what some of those people had to say about Envision....

The Professionals...

“The next generation has the ability to lead by example in transforming our communities.  Envision’s approach of empowering young people to make a difference in issues they care about is clearly effective.”

Fiona Mactaggart MP, Home Office Minister, 2005

“Envision have given young people a channel through which to express their (often latent) desire to make a difference to their neighbourhoods or communities in ways which are meaningful and accessible to them, and which make it more likely they will want to do so again in the future”

Demos, 2005

The Students...

Empowerment and self esteem

“Taking part in Envision has helped me gain so much self confidence, and has helped me voice my opinions and views, which I was afraid to voice as I was always the timid shy one. However during our final presentation to the 6th form no one was prepared to give the presentation so out of reluctance I had to do the presentation but I did end up enjoying it.”

Huma, aged 17, Croydon

"For me, Envision has been a worthwhile experience as I have learnt a lot about myself as a person, what I am capable of achieving and how I can help others."

Nathalie, St Pauls Girl's Schools

Skills development

“Envision trained me to be more assertive and get things done and start to use my initiative.”

Rose, aged 17, Birmingham

Awareness and attitudes

“It made me feel more aware of the environment around me and showed me how I can reduce my environmental impact”

Hasnath, aged 17,Hampstead

“Envision is a great opportunity to meet great new people and has inspired me to protect the environment”

Asia, aged 17, Birmingham

The Teachers...

Schools & Colleges Post 16 Programme

“Sixth former volunteering and participation has been transformed in this school by Envision.  Students now see the wider picture behind the concern they are giving their time to help.”

Martin Garman, Deputy Head of 6th, South Camden Community School

" We have run Envision programmes for the last 6 years . It never fails to inspire the students to look beyond their own comfort zones towards the wider global community. It helps to engender confidence and team work skills in all who participate."

Judith Hoffman, Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Hampstead Heath

Agents for Action

"An innovative student centred approach to encouraging young people to engage with the key issues facing society today. Extremely well organised with enthusiatic and well informed facilitators, I would recommend this programme without hesitation."

Amy Oxley, Extended Schools Coordinator, Globe Academy, Southwark

"Raising awareness is one thing, but Envision encourages students to take action. This is real citizenship."

Phil Tuck, Head of 6th Form, King Edward School VI Aston School

The Volunteers...

“This time at the school has been great fun.  I am proud of how hard the students have worked and how much they have achieved by working so well together.”

“The students have been really enthusiastic and have made excellent progress on their project.  They have been an absolute pleasure to work with and I’m sure they will be very successful in the future.”

“All the students are really excited about being able to help young people who are less fortunate than themselves and are willing to put in extra effort to make that happen.”

“The enthusiasm, confidence, self-belief and passion of my team never fails to amaze me and leaves me smiling every Friday!”

“the students are so motivated to the work that I find I am merely mediating and directing them towards how to realise their project. It is great to see young people so committed to making a difference and constantly striving to find ways to help. I always come away feeling (as clichéd as it may sound) genuinely inspired by their passion and motivation. Working with them is rewarding and fun.”
