Going for growth

Following very stiff competition, the Careers and Enterprise Company have selected Envision in Birmingham to receive funding to help scale our programme.

The funding comes on the back of existing support from the Careers and Enterprise Company and is a further endorsement of the quality of our mentoring and proven impact.  A huge thank you to all those businesses who have helped us to demonstrate it works.  We couldn't have done it without you.
This 'Investment Funding' will enable us to expand provision to year 10 pupils and target GCSE students who are at risk of disengaging from education.
It requires us to find local match for the wider programme of activities and we are therefore now seeking new business partners  to help us to expand the programme starting in September 2018.

Claudia Harris, CEO of The Careers & Enterprise Company, said:

Too many young people across England are at risk of not achieving their full potential. This can have a lasting impact on their future and career later in life.  Employer mentoring is a powerful way to address this issue by helping young people get inspired about the world of work.  Our fund will work to unlock this inspiration by scaling up proven mentoring programmes to help boost social mobility and give young people great life changing experiences.

I would encourage anyone who wants to get involved in mentoring to step forward and join this mentoring movement and make a real difference to the lives of young people in their local community.”
