Envision galvanizes community votes for a big win!

Community-Apprentice has beat stiff competition to emerge as one of the nation’s most popular initiatives and a winner of the Aviva Community Fund 2016.

The Aviva Community Fund is a nationwide initiative which offers organisations the chance to win funding for work that will benefit their community. The competition was entered by thousands of organisations across the UK, all trying to gain as many votes from the public as possible. Over 5 million votes were cast overall and Envision galvanised the support of the public to receive 1,400 votes in just 3 weeks! As a winner we will receive funding to give 20 more young people in Bristol the opportunity to gain an education for life by participating in our Community-Apprentice programme.

The Envision team called upon the young Community-Apprentices, Envision Graduates, Business Mentors, supporters and volunteers (to name a few!) for help – all of whom rose to the challenge.

Bristol Regional Manager Alice Young says:

We are delighted to have been awarded this funding! As a small team we are so grateful to have such dedicated supporters who value the importance of giving our younger generation a brighter future as much as we do! I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted for us.

Envision would especially like to thank Mark Woodham, of Corinthian Wealth Management, for entering Community-Apprentice in the competition. Mark says,

Having seen first hand how Community-Apprentice supports Bristol’s younger generation to develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to thrive I am pleased to hear they are winners of the Aviva Community Fund and have the support of local communities.
