Mentoring and Coaching

Since 2000 we have been training people on how to engage, mentor and support young people.  We have even won GoldStar Status from the Cabinet Office for our methods and techniques.

We are always looking for businesses who want to share their talents with the young people we work with and help to develop the workforce of the future.

Pitch 4 Change

One of our most successful mentoring projects is Pitch 4 Change a Dragons' Den-style event where teams of young people pitch their ideas for community projects to a panel of business and community leaders. Prior to the Pitch 4 Change event the teams are assigned mentors to help them prepare their pitch and to develop their presentation skills. Follow this link to find out more about Pitch 4 Change.

So come and share you knowledge, skills and talent with our young people and we'll promise you an experience to remember.

These business people did, and here's what they had to say about their experience...

Envision students deliver their presentation

Paul Spence lent a hand coaching four young people to deliver a presentation about their climate change project to a Parliamentary audience that included new Schools Minister Diana Johnson.

The project that the Envision students from Redbridge and Newham designed involved raising children’s and elderly people’s awareness of how to live sustainably. Paul helped them practise and review their presentation styles by filming and playing back the footage, and giving constructive advice. The team did a fantastic job of presenting their parliamentary speech.

Since working with Paul the students found that the skills they learned in the mentoring sessions also helped them a lot in their University interviews. Envision is really grateful for Paul for taking the time to share his expertise.

Paul Spence, EDF Energy“Helping a group of young people practise some of the presentation (and self-presentation) techniques I’ve learned over my career was a way to do something in only 1-2 hours that I hope will make a difference as they look to get a place at University or to get a job.  It’s affirming to see their energy and enthusiasm and great to feel you might make a real difference.”
